Two narrow hulls, and both of them stay cold
Hull cabins put the berth close to the waterline with very little structure in between. The cabins are small, so a night's sleep raises humidity quickly, and the sole and hull sides are the coolest surfaces in the boat. Cross-ventilation through the bridgedeck rarely reaches down into them.
15 mm suits the double berths in both hulls, where the base sits directly on hull-adjacent joinery. Bunk berths in charter layouts and cockpit seating work well at 10 mm.
Three steps, no tools
Remove the berth cushion and clear the board. No fasteners, no adhesive, nothing to drill.
Place the cut panel over the full berth area, running the length of the berth. Edges may be trimmed with scissors on board.
Set the cushion back on top. The gap works from the first night and stays open under sleeping load.
