Deep mattresses over a hull that never fully warms

Insulation slows the hull down, it does not make it warm. Behind the joinery the structure still tracks sea temperature, while a climate-controlled cabin holds warm air a few centimetres away. A deep mattress build-up gives that moisture the longest possible way out, and the underside is where it stops.

Recommendation

20 mm suits superyacht berths because the bases are deep and the mattresses heavy enough to close a thinner gap under load. Where crew berths and lobby seating are built shallower, Airflow Standard 10 mm is the correct choice.

Installation

Three steps, no tools

01
Lift the cushion

Remove the berth cushion and clear the board. No fasteners, no adhesive, nothing to drill.

02
Lay the fabric

Place the cut panel over the full berth area, running the length of the berth. Edges may be trimmed with scissors on board.

03
Replace and close

Set the cushion back on top. The gap works from the first night and stays open under sleeping load.
