The forward berth is the coldest surface you sleep

On a monohull the V-berth cushion follows the hull directly. Below the waterline the laminate holds sea temperature while two people raise humidity in a closed forepeak. Moisture collects on the underside of the cushion, not on top of it.

Recommendation

15 mm gives enough gap for hull-contact berths while staying flush under the cushion cut-out. For quarter berths and settees with limited depth, Airflow Standard 10 mm is sufficient.

Installation

Three steps, no tools

01
Lift the cushion

Remove the berth cushion and clear the board. No fasteners, no adhesive, nothing to drill.

02
Lay the fabric

Place the cut panel over the full berth area, running the length of the berth. Edges may be trimmed with scissors on board.

03
Replace and close

Set the cushion back on top. The gap works from the first night and stays open under sleeping load.
